Year 1 Learning Gallery
Week 6
As usual, the Year One children have had a great learning week. They have been using their doubling skills during continuous provision and also been finding 2-D shapes within 3-D shapes. They drew around 3-D shapes to see which 2-D shapes were created and talked about their properties. We also revisited pentagons and hexagons as some children were unsure of these. During computing, the children used positional language to move the Beebot to the desired position and also did this on screen. Their no chronological reports about gorillas are very impressive too!
Week 5
Animal Encounters galore last week! Great excitement (and a little fear) from all when we were able to get up close and personal with a python, tarantula, owl, cameleon and badger! Aren't Hillcross children the luckiest children ever?
This week we even met a police officer!
