Another week of great learning

Year One have had another action-packed week of learning. As writers, they have been doing some 'Talk for Writing' and learning the story of 'The Enormous Turnip' and have also drawn a story map where they sequenced events which will help them remember the story off by heart. They also performed their list poems to our Year 6 children who were fantastic learning partners! As mathematicians, they have been revisiting the properties of shapes as well as comparing measures. They have also used balancing scales during continuous provision to compare and contrast objects according to their weight. As theologists they have learnt about different festivals from a range of religions and were lucky enough to visit the Baitul Futah Mosque last Thursday. This promotes equality and respect for one another and helps us to understand a range of religions and cultures so we can then compare and contrast these.
