What do our governors say about Hillcross?
Hillcross is not just a school, it is a vibrant community in which pupils learn and thrive through a genuine culture of high aspirations, resilience and respect.
As a governor, some of the things that have impressed me the most are the innovative and creative approaches the school takes to provide a really rounded education for pupils. These range from Hillcross’ Thinking School status and P4C, the Junior Leadership and Eco Warrior teams through to things like the whole school allotment and annual Hillcross Has Got Talent competition.
During the pandemic lockdowns, staff have gone to great lengths to keep children engaged and connected with the school through online videos, assemblies, concerts, live lessons and ‘emotional check ins’.
It is a privilege to be a Governor of a school which cares about its children, it’s staff and it’s community. This is based on having a great team and great leadership with a passion for learning and making a positive difference for every child.
'I have felt hugely privileged to become part of the 'Hillcross Family' and to be part of an organisation where it is so firmly embedded in our DNA to provide a caring, supportive environment for all pupils and staff. The whole community have created a place where everyone is valued, respected and empowered to be the very best that they can, both personally and academically.
