Guided Reading (Year 2-6)

Each time we open a book with children, it is an opportunity to walk into a new world together, to explore the inner workings of great literary minds and, as their guide, to point out to the children the sights and sounds that could so easily be missed by the untrained eye.

 

Our vision at Hillcross is that every pupil has the opportunity to read and discuss a range of high quality books. From Year 2-6, we deliver whole class reading lessons. Each half term, teachers share a book from our Hillcross Reading Spine (pictured below). Every pupil will have their own copy of a book and each of these books has been carefully chosen to challenge and inspire all pupils.
