Week 6- Astronauts!

This week, as scientists, we have learnt what an astronaut is and all about the important  job they do. As communicators, we have developed questions to ask a real life astronaut when they take flight to space! As mathematicians, we continued to look at patterns and have focused on ABC patterns, using both resources inside and outside. As writers, we continued to immerse ourselves in the story of 'Whatever Next', sequencing the story and identifying the beginning, middle and end. We all then had the opportunity to take on the role of Baby Bear when acting out the story with props. We have also explored space suits and thought about why astronauts would use spacesuits in space. We identified that the most important part of the spacesuit was the backpack, which then led us to becoming designers and creators so that we could all make our own space backpacks. We used our great communication skills to explain the purpose of the space back pack and what it holds for the astronauts when they go to space.
