Autumn 1 Week 4- Autumn 2024

This week both team Chestnut and team Walnuts have been exploring the seasons, specifically focusing on Autumn. We had great fun going for an Autumn walk around the school to identify signs of Autumn and collect objects that signify this. We also took part in a whole class discussion around the changes we might see throughout the season. We then used the Tree Map to visually sort the objects we found into different categories. The Autumn items we gathered also helped us to practise our Maths skills as we used them to create repetitive patterns. In addition to this, we learnt the British Sign Language for 'Autumn' and 'Tree' which we loved practising throughout the week!  On top of all of that, we looked at festivals that take place in Autumn, with a focus on Diwali!  Finally, as we continue to make progress with our phonics learning, we challenged ourselves to use our known phonemes and match them to the correct graphemes so we can begin writing!

We hope you enjoy looking at our wonderful learning.
